Anonymous asked: haha, you lost me about the anon-worthy thing. but if its hydrocortisone 1% m/m, why not put it on your eyelids? its the weakest you can get, its exactly for thin areas like the eyelids. just be careful it doesnt get in your eyes and not to use it longer than a week

Hmm, yeah maybe I’ll use hydrocortisone there. I think I have some left over from before I got the triamcinolone acetonide.

What’s m/m?

The anon-worthy thing was more of a general thing, not specifically about you, which is why I tacked it on at the end. I just don’t understand why some people go anonymous if they have tumblr accounts and aren’t giving any personal details. Which leads me to assume that the people who send me anonymous messages that aren’t trolling or filled with personal details must not have a tumblr account. I don’t get anonymous messages too often so it’s just kind of weird when I do and so I over-think it. That’s all.

Anonymous asked: yeah, don't put that strong steroid on your eyelid. what is it called anyway?

I wouldn’t actually put it on my eyelid. I wouldn’t even put hydrocortisone on my eyelid, let alone this prescription stuff (especially since my dermatologist said I shouldn’t really use it where skin is thin and to only use it sparingly on normal areas like arms/legs)

It’s called triamcinolone acetonide. This time around it’s the cream version which I much prefer to the ointment.

What a random anon message. I get so few and whenever I do they  never really seem anon-worthy. I’ve only had one where I understood why the person used anonymous instead of their tumblr account. I can only assume these non anon-worthy messages are from non-tumblr users. Hmm..

Vanity complaint

There’s a dry spot on my right eyelid, close to my brow bone. It looks an awful lot like the eczema I’ve seen on people’s eyes. I have awful eczema but I’ve gotten some comfort from the fact that it has been restrained to areas of my body that clothes can cover. It’s all over, but at least it’s all over from the shoulders down. Lately I’ve had some dry spots on my jaw and cheek. They aren’t rash-y looking, just kind of dry and irritating to look at. But, they’re still not too bad. But this thing that has popped up on my eyelid? I can’t have that. My eyes are the few things I like about my physical self. I also really enjoy wearing eye-makeup that touches where this spot is. It’s itchy, it’s dry, and I really think it’s eczema. I hope it doesn’t get bigger and puffier. The eczema I’ve seen on people’s eyes usually give their eyelid a kind of puffy look. I would rather have more eczema on my ribs or something then have it on my eye. I have a super strength steroid cream for my eczema…I don’t think I can put it that close to my eye though.

ghangiskhan replied to your post: Eczema is awful.
absolutely. went through MS and HS with the crap on MY FACE, lookin’ like I got beat up and stuff. soothe itchiness with Aquaphor and/or Eucerin :)!!

Huh, I never noticed any eczema on your face. I have it everywhere but my face, although there’s this dry spot on my jaw line that I was getting worried was eczema but I think it’s just a dry spot. I use Eucerin creme. And I have this prescription for some super antihistamines that are supposed to help quell itchiness. I think because I did moisturize as well as usual yesterday is why it was such a supremely itchy day. I also think allergy season is rolling in so I’m going to get some new eczema spots that will just be itchy for awhile.

Sometimes the things that are the worst for you just seem so right

I took the most magnificent hot shower that was at least ten minutes long. All I did was rotate under the hot water over and over and over again. This is HORRIBLE in the long run for my eczema. However, it felt amazing and was just what I needed. And for the first time all day I am not itchy at all, so maybe it wasn’t all that bad.
