WHOA.

I KNOW, RIGHT?! I was randomly doing half-hearted squats in front of the mirror when I looked up, saw the picture, and just burst out laughing. It’s been in this house since we moved in (16 1/2 years ago). My mom doesn’t remember when she bought it so there’s a possibility that it’s as old as me!

Oh my god, she is a dork. Love it.

She really is! I love the hula dancing picture. I hate to admit it because it’s probably the whole point, but I love seeing these kinds of photos. I don’t need candid creepy tabloid shots, these personal photos of celebrities having fun and “being themselves” is just entertaining in its own right.

I wish there were more silly Jay-Z pictures, I feel like they’d bring me some chuckles.

I recommend amazon.com/The-Del…

Ooh, thank you! I just ordered a used copy through Amazon. I hope this helps. Elementary school was the last time I had truly intensive grammar lessons, so I think a stylebook is something that’d be really helpful for me because I just don’t have that formal knowledge. Which is something that really frustrates me, especially because I went to a “college prep” high school which is the best one in Providence (which doesn’t really say all that much), but we never spent much time on something as basic (and yet very important) as grammar.

I was a writing tutor for three years and I am kind of obsessive about grammar! I don’t have time today, though. Also, I might be rusty. But…I might be able to help! I used to give workshops and I wrote a grammar column in the newsletter. SRSLY.

Thanks! I will undoubtedly have tons of questions even with the above mentioned stylebook so a real person to talk to about this stuff would be great.

I can’t believe there’s a knock-knock joke I haven’t heard — and it’s good!
This has made me irrationally happy. I’m glad you liked it! IT IS AMAZING. And I will be taking your advice and writing in to that Amazon dealer.

That sucks! Was it used or was it an Amazon warehouse error?
It was an independent seller, I got a used copy. It’s fine, I’m mostly just stressed overall so this minor irritation just seems all the more frustrating. The professor has the textbook on reserve in the library for us to make copies of, I have to assume she also has the Vagina Monologues on reserve. So any of the readings that are different or missing in my edition I’ll just make copies of.

That site….if I read just one page I get stuck in a loop for at least an hour and a half.
SERIOUSLY! I opened up a page on The Cosby show sometime after 6 and didn’t actually get to read that page until after 8. Everytime I saw something interesting linked I’d  open a new tab, start reading it, open more tabs, read those, go back, open new tabs, etc. It’s awful. I totally intended on going to sleep before 9 tonight, too. Whoops.

It’s $8.72 on Amazon! Yeah, I’m going to go ahead and get it. I want to lose fat, but gaining muscle would help with that! Scooping all that ice cream at Cold Stone must have been good for the biceps. Did you have to sing horrible songs?

Chocolate ice cream is the hardest ice-cream in the world. I would hate when people would get Gotta Have It’s of chocolate. Ace bandages were my friend back in those days.

And yes I did sing the songs. I do improv and our shows have a 20 minute musical, and we also start our show with a theme song. We’re not great singers, but it’s a lot of fun. So I think that Cold Stone was the perfect place for me. I didn’t mind singing at all (actually, I loved it), plus we would get tips for it! I remember there were a few nights when drunken groups would come in and they must’ve mistaken us for a Johnny Rocket’s juke box because they just kept throwing dollars in. Most of the crew was annoyed, but we made good money just for singing songs. I’ll also admit to penning a few of the songs that we sang at my store, too. One night Billy Joel’s Uptown Girl came on the Muzak and I ran to the dumbwaiter and called downstairs to my friend who was washing dishes. When she came over I was like “WE NEED TO MAKE A TIP SONG TO Uptown Girl RIGHT.NOW!!!!!”. And we did.

Good luck with the DVD! Message me when you start and let me know how it’s going.

I haven’t done it, but it sounds like fun and I approve of any and all workout endeavours. GIT R DUN, MA’AM.

I knew I’d get your approval! I’ve been talking about getting my ass in gear for ages, I hope I really stick to this thing. And apparently it’s only about 25 minutes. An intense 25 minutes, but 25 minutes nonetheless.

And maybe it’ll be a slippery slope of fitness! After I get the hang of this, then I’ll start taking trips to the gym. And then I’ll start running outside. And then I’ll learn how to ride a bike! And then I’ll start hardcore biking!

OH THE FITNESS DREAMS I HAVE!

I’ve heard it’s tough even for people who are somewhat fit, but I have been wanting to try it because the DVD is pretty cheap. I finally just lost the 10 or so lbs I gained since I moved into this apartment, but I want to get in better shape.

Do it!! I ordered it on Amazon for under 10 dollars (including shipping). From the reviews I’ve read a lot of people don’t actually lose tons and tons of weight, but they lose a good amount of inches and gain some great muscle. And that’s really what I’m looking for. At my prime (my prime! Jesus, I’m 20!!) I wasn’t that much less than where I am now, but I had a bit more muscle back then. It’s amazing how much muscle you build up working at Cold Stone Creamery.

bedbugsbiting replied to your post: I lack the ability to watch Watchmen

I’m like that with most movies. I’ve had a disc of Inception here for probably a month and I just can’t watch it.

Watch that!! It’s a great movie. I think what adds to my distraction is that I feel so full of energy and surfing the web is much more of a release than sitting still and watching pictures move on screen. If I were watching the movie on a TV it’d be different, I’d just close my laptop and move on. But trying to watch movies on my laptop while having internet access is a very difficult thing for me.

I also am distracted by the fact that I think Watchmen would look better on the HDTV in my living room rather than my laptop screen. I feel like I’m wasting good graphics.

WHEN YOU FINALLY WATCH INCEPTION TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF IT!!
