This “Angel” is a totally made up character.  Fine.  You cast an Woman of Color.  Great.  She’s got wings of an insect… um her name’s Angel but.. whatever.  And out of all the powers to give her you make her vomit acid?  OK, I can barf on people, too. 

And…she’s a go-go dancer.

This Angel is Angel Salvadore aka Tempest. She’s not made up for the movie, she was introduced in 2001. The original First Class would have had the male Angel, so yes they are swapping and not being true to the comic storyline (which they never claimed they were going to try to be, which is clear from the mutants who are in this movie, they span generations & timelines) but she is very much a real mutant, just a lesser known one.
