so, I found this picture and, perhaps because it’s almost 3:00am and I’ve been up since 7:30, it amuses me so much.
I am pretty excited to get braids again. Well, I’m going to try out senegalese twists, but in the Summer I’ll get some braids.

and looking in the mirror I haven’t even gotten close to the majority out yet. It’s a little after 4am. I didn’t expect to get them all out before I went to bed, but damn!
Also, I completely forgot what my highlights looked like. I could see a couple strands in some braids where my own hair was coming through, but for the most part I just didn’t remember me with anything other than dark brown. The highlights look lighter than they were before. Anyway, WE’RE GETTING THERE
Also (again), it’s going to take a bit to readjust to my length. Probably a little shorter than it was prior to the braids and then after I get the ends trimmed whenever I find time to visit my aunt’s salon it’ll be even shorter. Not drastically. And it kind of doesn’t matter since I don’t remember the previous length. But, either way anything is shorter than what I had with the braids. I always wore them pulled back, but it’ll just be so different. And I won’t be able to do all my fun twists that I was doing. I think I’ll get some sengelese twists in a month or so. Yay fun with natural hair protective styles!
This is supposed to be a self-portrait (referenced from my “box braids” tag, so you decide if it actually looks like me or not).
Don’t think I’m brave enough nor have the right face for them, but they do look amazing
